Content-Type Builder

Add the narration custom field, configure sources per type, and understand CTB quirks.

Add the narration field

  1. Open Content-Type Builder for the collection or single type that should support narration.
  2. Add the custom field plugin::narration.narration where editors should manage voice selection and audio.
  3. Save and rebuild the admin if prompted.

Per-type options

From CTB you can configure:

  • Ordered narration sources — map fields (scalar or blocks) that supply text for TTS.
  • Optional default voice — pre-select a voice for new entries.
  • Advanced → block types allowlist — comma-separated block types when using Dynamic Zones.

Visibility condition (known Strapi UI)

Strapi’s Content-Type Builder may show a Visibility condition section for custom fields. This plugin does not rely on it—you can ignore that section for the narration field.

After saving types, restart Strapi and verify the narration panel appears on entries as expected.
